Srdečně vás zveme na diskusní panel věnovaný aktuálnímu politickému dění v Latinské Americe. V rámci setkání se zaměříme na současné politické trendy v zemích, jako jsou Mexiko, Kuba, Peru či Argentina, a prozkoumáme, jakým výzvám musí čelit současné latinskoamerické demokracie. Stranou nezůstane ani otázka hloubky polarizace mezi nastupující radikální pravicí a jejími odpůrci, stejně jako analýza toho, do jaké míry je tento region ovlivněn fenoménem kulturních válek a politikou administrativy USA.
Diskuse nabídne vhled do toho, co lze očekávat v budoucích americko-mexických vztazích a jaká je budoucnost kubánského režimu. Zaměříme se také na identifikaci hlubokých příčin chronické nestability v Peru a zhodnotíme, jak si aktuálně vede Argentina pod vedením prezidenta Javiera Mileie.

Latin American Political Turbulence: From Mexico to Argentina
You are cordially invited to a panel discussion focused on current political developments in Latin America. During this session, we will examine contemporary political trends in countries such as Mexico, Cuba, Peru, and Argentina, while exploring the various challenges facing contemporary Latin American democracies. The discussion will also address the depth of polarization between the emerging radical right and its opponents, as well as the extent to which the region is affected by culture wars and the policies of the U.S. administration.
Furthermore, the panel will provide insights into what can be expected in future U.S.–Mexican relations and the future of the Cuban regime. We will also focus on identifying the underlying sources of chronic instability in Peru and evaluate Argentina’s performance under the leadership of Javier Milei.
